Buffet had a wonderful and varied selection. 2 nights 3 days to Sydney, we got to the terminal at the correct time to find every one else had the same time ,so 45 mins doing the bag line shuffle , we climbed on board as so many Brisbane folks also did , there where the normal bars, entertainment ,shops we choose a widow cabin as not worth a balcony for the short time trip , the first night was the band on deck ,as we left port ,then they had the bands playing after the evening meal ,in the bars , the entertainment was the comedy show , which was very funny , thes day at sea was a bit slower as the activitys where less then we thought but there where movies on the TV to which we watched , as the evening came we then watched the on deck movie ,we have 2000 people on board yet i counted 10 people watching this movie , for us more room , on arrival in Sydney we waited till the breaky line was slow around 8 am , by this time the line had less then 5 people simply walked in loaded plate and off to the seat , finally finished we simply headed to the gang way and left as our bags where carry on ,so easy , then off the gangway and into the heart of Sydney Had the time of my life. Our interaction with staff ship-wide was a very pleasant experience overall. While in port at our next destination, St Maarten, we chose to fill our time on our own rather than book any other excursions. One of the 2 out of 5 scheduled excursions had a wonderful guide through the rain forest of Costa Rica. Long and drawn out to the point of being boring. I feel like the details provided by Princess for this plan prior to departure did not match up with what the specifics were regarding the details once on board the boat. I enjoyed the fitness track every morning before indulging in the massive buffet breakfast offerings. The canoe tour was quiet and peaceful and guides went to great lengths to show us monkeys, sloths, and a variety of birds. Excursions were good, tour guides very knowledgeable and likeable. • The only thing to do on the cruise for younger people is go to the casino or pool And this had a domino affect for things like hotels, car rental and even folks who were due to continue on this ship for the next voyage. A little later, we began boarding our tenders to leave. When they did finally the filet was considerably underdone and we had to send it back. Every excursion was run smoothly by Princess. Princess takes care of her passengers in a way that would be hard pressed to duplicate. Music was everywhere, dancing in the atrium,movies shown were the latest, activities and game shows - what a lot of choices to make daily. The waiters in the Marquis Restaurant & Horiizon Court buffet were attentive, helpful & friendly. Surprisingly, as we finally left the ship, nothing was required of us to complete our departure. Numerous groups onboard were due to travel on that sailing, not to mention any passengers who were waiting or due to arrive in Florida to depart later that day. Enhanced cleaning and precautions caused me to feel safe. Princess as a company, despite the mentioned faults, appears to be a cruise line that has many, many things going for it and would be an excellent choice for first time cruisers. While I understand rules in place may have made this necessary, I believe a different solution could have been provided.
